Tencüi

Tencüi is a Mexican restaurant in Mexico City (San Miguel Chapultepec I Sección), $$; currently temporarily closed.

Mexico City restaurant built almost entirely around mushrooms, from chef Mario Espinosa. At Tencui, chef Mario Espinosa -- previously of Rosas y Xocolate and Madereros -- built a menu almost entirely from the fungi kingdom, growing part of the mushrooms used onsite in a dedicated fruiting chamber and sourcing the rest from organic producers around the city. The largely vegetarian menu rotates through varieties like lion's mane, shiitake, porcini and huitlacoche, plated with precision in a small dining room.
